This site is is a dynamic work in progress, constantly under construction, highly experimental. It also isn't optimized for any browser in particular, but is especialy bad on smartphones. Offworld since 1975. I've seen things you people wouldn't believe... Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion... I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain... Time to go offworld. Time is an illusion. And if you think this is a waste of time... remember, time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time. The garbage we're taught starts so young. There is no need to know about presidents, wars, numbers or science. Just listen to me and you'll learn. Listen with curiosity. The best listeners listen between the lines, anyway. The greatest problem with communication is we don’t listen to understand. We listen to reply. When we listen with curiosity, we don’t listen with the intent to reply. We listen for what’s behind the words. You must know nothing before you can learn something, and be empty before you can be filled. Is not the emptiness of the bowl what makes it useful? As for laws, a parrot can repeat them word for word. Their spirit is something else again. I just called to say I love you and I mean it from the bottom of my heart! You came here for some excitement tonight and that's just what you're going to get! All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream, and without leaps of imagination or dreaming, we lose the excitement of possibilities. Dreaming, after all is a form of planning. Information is not knowledge. Information wants to be free. Give it to the people so they can memorize the words to popular songs or the names of state capitals or how much corn Iowa grew last year. Cram them full of noncombustible data, chock them so damned full of 'facts' they feel stuffed, but absolutely 'brilliant' with information. Then they'll feel they're thinking, they'll get a sense of motion without moving. Repetition is a form of change.
